STEP 1: ALL COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS MUST COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK EVERY CALENDAR YEAR AND CREATE A U.S. SOCCER CONNECT ACCOUNT.
Minnesota State Law and MYSA Policy require that all adults have an approved background check before they participate in any MYSA activity. Please follow the link below to complete your 2023 background check through the US Soccer Connect (Affinity) platform before your first interaction with your team. U.S. Soccer Connect is the new name for the Affinity Sports platform.
CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE BACKGROUND CHECK
- If you coached previously you will use the same account that you have used in the past to complete the background check.
- Can’t remember your username/password from last year? There is a forgot password option.
- Still having problems? Contact AYSA at info@arrowheadsoccer.com.
CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE CDC CONCUSSION TRAINING
- If you need help, we have created an instructions document here: HEADS UP to Youth Sports Concussion Training Instructions
- If you have completed the training in the last three years (2021, 2022, 2023) and have a current certificate uploaded in your U.S. Soccer Connect (Affinity) account, you do not need to re-complete the training for this season.
- If you do not have a current certificate uploaded on your U.S. Soccer Connect (Affinity) account or do not have access to your valid certificate, you will have to re-complete the training.
- Save your certificate at the end of the training! You will need to upload that to your U.S. Soccer Connect (Affinity) account in Step 4.
CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE U.S. SOCCER SAFESPORT TRAINING
- For new coaches and managers:
- Complete information on “Sign Up” page.
- If prompted, log in to the new account you just created.
- Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog.”
- Click the Start button for “SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation” to complete the course.
- For returning coaches and managers:
- Select “Enroll” if it pops up on the next page.
- Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog.”
- Click the Start button for your Refresher course.
- To check to see when you completed your certificate last, go to the “Transcript” page. The date the refresher was taken (“Valid From”) should have a Sept. 2022 date or later to be valid. The expiration date is not correct.
*If you have any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me – info@arrowheadsoccer.com. This is a new process for MYSA this year so I can help clarify any questions you may have.
Upon completion of your training, you will receive a certificate of completion that must be uploaded into your Affinity/US Connect account. If your first name, last name and email address match in your US Connect account and SafeSport, then your completion certificate will be automatically electronically updated in your US Connect account and no manual upload is needed.
- Manually uploading your certificate of completion:
- Please select the “Menu” icon at the top right of your page.
- Select “Transcript”.
- Once the transcript page displays, locate the most current completion for the course under the “Certificates” section.
- Download the certificate by selecting the “Download” button at the right of the completed course.
