AYSA COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

Players and Parents! Nominate a soccer coach or club volunteer that has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

The Geary Award For Outstanding Service to the AYSA Community

This award honors those who are excellent role models who generously give of their time and talents for the good of the game and community. The criteria for the award are derived from the tenants of the AYSA mission statement.

Recipients of the award should be any individual involved with the AYSA who coaches, models or promotes the following attributes of the mission:

  1. Someone who is an excellent role model.
  2. Someone who has generously given their time and talents for the good of the game and the community.
  3. Someone who models and/or promotes the following attributes of the mission of AYSA:

Fun, Sportsmanship, Respect, Community Building, Responsibility, Healthy Lifestyles, and Fulfillment of Potential

2016 – Dave Geary

Dave Geary was the Executive Director of Arrowhead Youth Soccer for 17 years. His commitment to the AYSA community and to building AYSA to what it has become today it the reason this award was created. The AYSA Board felt this award should be presented to the person it was modeled after.  He has been a coach, mentor, administrator, and much more for the AYSA and Duluth soccer community. 

 

2017 – Dave Robinson

Dave Robinson has been an active part of the AYSA community for many years. He has spent his time an efforts to help grow the soccer community over the years. He has provided coaching clinics for AYSA volunteer coaches, camps, and dedicated many hours to help shape the future of soccer in Duluth.
