PRESEASON TEAM INFORMATION:

Team Manager Handbook (How to Navigate US Connect)

BEFORE YOU CAN GET PASSES:

All coaches/players need the following before we can print passes:

  • Upload Photo (page 7-8 of Team Manager Handbook)
  • Complete coach/manager requirements (listed above)

Once all photos and requirements are completed, we can send passes to the team coach, manager, and Barry Chastey so you all have copies. Also required for most tournaments:

  • Upload Player Jersey Numbers (page 11)
  • Birth Certificates (recommend for older teams (13+) but optional for most tournaments)

HOW TO CREATE TRAVEL ROSTER/PHOTO ROSTER FOR A TOURNAMENT:

  • Most tournaments require a travel roster and/or photo roster. Follow directions on Page 24 of the Team Manager Handbook to create both. You can create a photo roster for any tournament this way even if they do not require a travel roster. We recommend creating these photo rosters early before the registration deadline for the tournament.
  • You are able to add guest players on the Roster page of the Travel Roster process BUT you will need the player’s first and last name and their ID Number (on each player’s pass). You will also need to collect the pass from the coach of the team you are borrowing from.

If your team is attending a tournament before April 1st, please contact AYSA so we can start working on your team passes in a timely manner – info@arrowheadsoccer.com.

COACH AND MANAGER REQUIREMENTS BELOW

STEP 1: ALL COACHES MUST COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK EVERY CALENDAR YEAR AND CREATE A U.S. SOCCER CONNECT ACCOUNT.

Minnesota State Law and MYSA Policy require that all adults have an approved background check before they participate in any MYSA activity. Please follow the link below to complete your 2024 background check through the US Soccer Connect (Affinity) platform before your first interaction with your team. U.S. Soccer Connect is the new name for the Affinity Sports platform.

CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE BACKGROUND CHECK

  • If you coached previously you will use the same account that you have used in the past to complete the background check.
  • Can’t remember your username/password from last year? There is a forgot password option.
  • Still having problems? Contact AYSA at info@arrowheadsoccer.com.

STEP 2: ALL COACHES MUST COMPLETE THE CDC CONCUSSION TRAINING EVERY THREE YEARS

Minnesota State Law and MYSA Policy require that all adult participants complete concussion training every three years. The Centers for Disease Control provides a free training called HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training.

For 2024, if you have a concussion training certificate from another credible organization (MSHSL for example), you may upload a certificate with your name and completion date from that training.

CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE CDC CONCUSSION TRAINING

  • If you need help, we have created an instructions document here: HEADS UP to Youth Sports Concussion Training Instructions
  • If you have completed the training in the last three years (2022, 2023, 2024) and have a current certificate uploaded in your U.S. Soccer Connect account, you do not need to re-complete the training for this season.
  • If you do not have a current certificate uploaded on your U.S. Soccer Connect account or do not have access to your valid certificate, you will have to re-complete the training.
  • Save your certificate at the end of the training! You will need to upload that to your U.S. Soccer Connect account in Step 4.

STEP #3: ALL COACHES MUST COMPLETE CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION TRAINING EVERY YEAR.

Federal Law and Minnesota Youth Soccer Association now require that all adult participants complete child abuse prevention training.

  • For new coaches and managers:
    1. Complete information on “Sign Up” page.
    2. If prompted, log in to the new account you just created.
    3. Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog.”
    4. Click the Start button for “SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation” to complete the course.
  • For returning coaches and managers:
    1. Log in.
    2. Select “Enroll” if it pops up on the next page.
    3. Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog.”
    4. Click the Start button for your Refresher course.
    5. To check to see when you completed your certificate last, go to the “Transcript” page. The date the refresher was taken (“Valid From”) should have a Sept. 2023 date or later to be valid. The expiration date is not correct.
*If you have any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me – info@arrowheadsoccer.com. This is a new process for MYSA this year so I can help clarify any questions you may have.

Upon completion of your training, you will receive a certificate of completion that must be uploaded into your US Connect account. If your first name, last name and email address match in your US Connect account and SafeSport, then your completion certificate will be automatically electronically updated in your US Connect account and no manual upload is needed.

  • Manually uploading your certificate of completion:
    1. Please select the “Menu” icon at the top right of your page.
    2. Select “Transcript”.
    3. Once the transcript page displays, locate the most current completion for the course under the “Certificates” section.
    4. Download the certificate by selecting the “Download” button at the right of the completed course.
Note: If you are trying to add an updated certificate to your profile and an old one is still present, email your updated certificates to info@arrowheadsoccer.com and we will upload them for you.

STEP 4: UPLOAD TRAINING CERTIFICATES FROM STEPS #2 and #3

Upon completion of both trainings in Step #2 and #3 above you will receive a certificate that must be uploaded into your U.S. Connect account for your AYSA to validate. Save each certificate as a PDF or JPG directly from the training portals. Follow the steps below to upload your certificates to your account:

CLICK HERE TO LOG IN TO YOUR U.S. SOCCER CONNECT (AFFINITY) ACCOUNT

(Hint: this is the same account you created for the MYSA Background Check above in Step #1)

  1. Go to your Certificates tab.
  2. Click on the appropriate box to upload your file (both the Concussion Certificate and SafeSport Certificate must be uploaded if they are not present). Do not worry about uploading your Driver’s License or PACT Certificate.
  3. Click “Choose File” and choose the appropriate certificate to upload.
  4. Click on the green “Upload Image” button. The pop-up box will close and your certificate will replace the generic upload certificate picture that was previously in the box.

Note: If you are trying to add an updated certificate to your profile and an old one is still present, email your updated certificates to info@arrowheadsoccer.com and we will upload them for you.
